What To Expect From Your Invisalign Treatment

What To Expect From Your Invisalign Treatment

At the end of May we held one of our popular Invisalign Open Days, where those interested in this discreet teeth straightening treatment could find out more and save up to £2000 off treatment. If you took advantage of this fantastic offer and are wondering what to expect from your Invisalign treatment we’ve prepared some helpful information below:

Consultation

All Invisalign treatment here at Dentalia, begins with your consultation. This is your chance to explain to our dental team exactly what you are unhappy with and what you hope to achieve from treatment. It is also a chance for us to explain to you what the treatment involves, how long we estimate it will take and what you will need to do in order to prolong the results.

X-rays and Scanning

Once we have established your concerns and what treatment will be provided to treat your minor orthodontic issues, we’ll need to take an impression and x-ray of your mouth, to give us the information we need to create your custom made aligners and also to show you what you might expect after your treatment is finished. If you have unhappy memories of goopy pink putty impressions at the dentist, fear not, as our state of the art iTero® Element™ Intraoral Scanner digitally captures a 3D model of your mouth without any of the mess or gagging and allows us to map out a custom treatment plan for you.

Invisalign Aligners

You will be provided with your first set of custom made Invisalign aligners, which are made from clear, medical grade plastic, making them a discreet solution to straightening your smile. You’ll be required to wear this set of aligners for about 2 weeks before changing them. This is because each set of aligners is very slightly different to allow for the gradual moving of your teeth into the desired position. You’ll be provided with new sets of aligners as required throughout your treatment.

Regular Appointments

Your smile will be clearly monitored during the course of your Invisalign treatment, so we can make sure the results are on track and that you have the latest sets of aligners ready. We recommend appointments at 6-8 week intervals so that we can check on your progress and answer any questions you might have.

Living with Invisalign

Invisalign aligners are not only virtually invisible but they are easy to live with! Compared to other teeth straightening treatments, Invisalign allows you to continue with your usual routines because the aligners are easily removable. You can eat, drink and brush your teeth as normal, just remember to put your aligners back in after you’ve finished.

Free Teeth Whitening

If you took advantage of our Invisalign special offer at our recent open day then you’ll be excited about the prospect of having free teeth whitening as part of your teeth straightening treatment. So, not only will your smile look straighter but it will also be whiter!

Wearing a Retainer

When you get to the end of your treatment we hope you will be really pleased with the results and feel more confident in your smile. It’s really important that you follow your dentist’s advice and wear the Vivera retainer which has been custom made for you. This retainer helps to keep your teeth in their new position and gives you long lasting results from your treatment.
