How full arch dental implants transform missing teeth into confident smiles

How full arch dental implants transform missing teeth into confident smiles

Losing just one tooth comes with a big knock to your confidence and a noticeable change in your ability to eat and speak, so losing an entire set of teeth is a life-changing blow. If this is the case for you then don’t feel as if you need to restore your teeth one at a time and wait for each new implant to heal before starting the next one. This lengthy process is now a practice of the past thanks to the revolutionary advancements of full arch dental implants.

Unlike traditional implants that each require a post, abutment and crown to replace a single tooth (not to mention the surgical procedure required to implant each one into the jaw), full arch implants restore the look and functionality of an entire set of teeth in one go.

Choosing full arch dental implants

What makes full arch implants the best treatment choice for you?

  • They are a fixed, non-removable solution that will not become dislodged or slip
  • You can eat, speak and smile without any functional restrictions.
  • They provide a stable foundation for an entire arch, rather than just one or two teeth.
  • Despite this extensive restoration, the surgery involved is quick and minimally invasive.
  • The implants do not require bone grafting and will prevent bone loss in your face and jaw over time.
  • The custom crowns that cap the implants are matched to your teeth and look completely natural.
  • With the right care, full arch dental implants will last a lifetime.

Ready to get started? There’s plenty to smile about with our full arch treatments, so here’s how you will restore your smile and your confidence with the help of our dental implant specialist.

Book an initial consultation

You don’t have to make any decisions about your treatment preferences until after you have had an initial consultation with our implant specialists. This appointment is the opportunity for you to find out all about our process, the treatment timeline, and the cost of your treatment, so if you have any questions for our team, now is the time to ask them.

Full arch implants are also just one of the treatments available to you, so we will talk through our full range of implant options during this consultation to help you make the right choice for your smile. For example, if you have only one tooth missing, then a one-off implant is the better choice for you, since full arch treatments are reserved for extensive tooth loss.

Receive your treatment plan

Once you’ve decided upon full arch implants we’ll get started on a detailed treatment plan that outlines every stage of the treatment. From the surgery appointment to your final checkup, every step of the process will be clearly explained to you before you make your final decision, and this plan will also include a cost breakdown of the entire process.

We don’t want you to have any concerns or surprises once the treatment has started, which is why the price of everything, down to the last crown, will be included in this plan to provide the clarity you need when opting for full arch treatment.

Attend a surgical appointment

One of the main reasons our patients opt for full arch dental implants, aside from their extensive benefits, is the fact that only one surgical procedure is needed to restore an entire set of teeth.

We are able to achieve this by using typically four to six implants to anchor the entire new arch of teeth in place, rather than one implant for each tooth. These fixed posts are strategically placed within the jaw and since only a small number of them are needed the entire procedure only takes around 2 hours to be completed in full.

Allow your jaw to heal

After the surgery your new implants will need to bond with your bones and become a fixed part of your jaw. This is a process called osseointegration and it will take time - anywhere from 3 to 6 months - which is why we provide you with a temporary set of crowns to function as real teeth whilst your mouth heals.

This extended healing period is necessary in order to provide the stable foundation that is needed to achieve the permanent restoration that you deserve. We will supply you with post-surgery care instructions to maintain your oral hygiene and protect your healing gums, and we will also be on-hand throughout this time to answer any questions whilst our team perfects the custom-made crowns that will be fixed onto the implants.

Have your crowns fitted

Once the osseointegration process is complete and your jaw has fully healed around the implants, all that is left to do is attend a final appointment to have your crowns fixed. A dental bridge will be used to hold the crowns in place and achieve a full, functional restoration of your teeth, which the crowns will then cap to provide the appearance of a completely natural smile.

These crowns will be colour-matched against your natural teeth, and we will take detailed notes regarding the shape, size, and shade of your teeth during your consultation to make sure that the crowns we manufacture match them perfectly. Once you’re happy with the final look we will arrange a dental check-up in a few weeks and give you detailed guidelines to follow to maintain them just as you would your natural teeth.
